Amsterdam, Orange streets familiar faces
Some moments are planned. Others simply happen.
King’s Day has never really been about celebrating the King's birthday. Not for us.
It’s about movement. Streets filling up before noon. Music from every direction. Friends turning into strangers and strangers turning into friends. Amsterdam becoming louder, messier and somehow more connected for one day.
This year, we decided to bring Paper Straight into that energy through our pop up store. Not to create a traditional retail space. Not to build another store. But to create a place where the brand could exist outside of a screen.
MORE THAN A POP UP
For a few days, our world moved offline. The same people who know us through campaigns, content and collections suddenly stood in front of us. They touched fabrics. Tried on pieces. Talked about fit, colorways and favorite items. Some walked in as customers and stayed for conversations.
That’s the part numbers never show.
Community.
Not followers. Not sessions. Not traffic.
Real people.
AMSTERDAM IS PART OF THE BRAND
Paper Straight was built here.
And if you know Amsterdam, you know that the city isn’t polished.
Its character lives in contrast.
Luxury next to concrete.
Old buildings beside modern architecture.
Street culture mixed with fashion, music and art.
That tension shaped us.
King’s Day might be one of the few moments where you can feel all of it at once.
Orange everywhere. Crowded streets. Controlled chaos.
For one day the city stops pretending. And honestly, that feels familiar.
WHAT WE’LL REMEMBER
The conversations.
The energy.
The people.
The chaos.
And somewhere in between all of that a reminder that building a brand isn’t only about products.
Sometimes it’s just about showing up in the city that built you.
Paper Straight, built in Amsterdam. Worn everywhere.
